RAIL MANUFACTUER DC TOOLING SERVICE AND CALIBRATION
Calibration, service and repairs from UK workshop in under a week
Our customer specialises in the production of electrification equipment for railways, part of a larger global group they are one of the world’s leaders in rail technology.
Using a combination of corded and cordless tools across the site, including tools which are integrated within larger production systems. Access to calibrate and service tooling can be an issue. However, Abbey rose to the challenge and an expert engineer visits the site annually to service, repair and calibrate the tool on site while in situ within the production environment.
The remaining DC tools are collected from site and returned to Abbey’s Yorkshire base for a full service & calibration. The tools are also assessed for wear and tear and any repairs are completed at the same time to reduce downtime and maximise productivity.
The whole process of collection and delivery back to site is done within one week and project managed from start to finish by Abbey’s customer support team.
Josh Stead, Managing Director of Abbey commented “We love rising to the challenges presented to us by our customers. Having a team of over 20 trained engineers based in our UK workshop means we can turn around the scheduled work in a tight timescale.”
