legistaltion advice

LEGISLATION ADVICE

We’ll assess your organisation needs to meet standards.

LEGISLATION ADVICE

It can be a full time occupation simply keeping up with changes in health and safety legislation but failing to comply can have devastating consequences. Sometimes it seems like the law is conspiring to put you out of business not encouraging your economic growth.

At Abbey we take a sensible approach to H&S. We’ll asses exactly what your organisation needs to meet standards and we won’t offer you any thing but pragmatic, straightforward advice.
Above all, we aim to add value to your business not burden it with unnecessary red tape.

Our close links with the HSE put us in the best position to provide the most current training across all aspects of tool safety and in particular, in Hand Arm Vibration Syndrome (HAVS) which is a serious risk within our industry.

ASSET MANAGEMENT

We can create an audit of all your tools including their service history.

ASSET MANAGEMENT

If your business’s profitability depends upon the health and efficiency of your tools, then not managing your assets could have a negative impact on your productivity.

Allowing expensive equipment to deteriorate is unprofitable and unsafe. Abbey can create an audit of all your tools including their service history and any repairs carried out, as well as any compliance testing. A well managed inventory gives you visibility of your assets and enables you to plan ahead for maintenance and renewal without impacting on your productivity.

By adopting an asset management approach, Abbey can create a comprehensive tool register, which in turn is fed into a Tool Evaluation Matrix (TEM) to determine a service, breakdown and healthcheck schedule over a fixed period. This provides a compliant framework that gives you complete peace of mind.

VIBRATION TESTING

On site or at our equipped workshop, our trained team can assist with testing.

ON SITE VIBRATION TESTING

Health and Safety breaches can be costly. Employees who regularly use power tools may be at risk of developing a range of occupational hazards related to the vibrating nature of hand held tools, these are collectively know as Hand Arm Vibration Syndrome or HAVS.

It’s estimated that over a million users are exposed to an increased risk of developing HAVS and that risk is compounded if users exceed the recommended limits set by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE).

Abbey can work with your business to manage and mitigate your employees’ risk. Our Institute of Acoustics (IOA) trained experts will conduct a full, on-site assessment using our own HAVS testing equipment before offering tangible ways to reduce risk and advise on best practice.
