Abbey welcomes Les Watson to the team
Abbey IS welcomes a new member to the team: Les Watson joins Abbey, bringing with him a wealth of expertise, having represented world class torque wrench manufacturer, Sturtevant Richmont in the UK for almost two decades.
Les, along with the wider Abbey team, will provide technical support to our customer base, who will now have access to Sturtevant Richmont’s extensive range of products. Including the Digital Torque Controller System, which can be programmed wirelessly and provide multi-tool control and reporting.
Originally designed for for US Air Force, the tools are now favoured by manufacturers who value quality and consistency. Widely used in the auto-motive and aviation industry, Airbus and Vauxhall are amongst their clients.
Sturtevant Richmont’s tools are renown for durability and impressive life span: torque wrenches can operate for 30 years with little or no need for adjustment. However, Abbey IS have a robust tool management system so customers can rest assured their investment will be well taken care of.

Abbey IS is already supplying high quality tools and excellent service packages, I think the cultural fit between Abbey IS and Sturtevant Richmont is perfect, I’m looking forward to introducing the products to more customers.”
Abbey Industrial Solutions is pleased to announce the acquisition of Preston-based industrial tool company, ATN Tools.
The move forms part of Abbey’s strategy to significantly grow its presence in the North West, and will see businesses in the region benefit from an expanded tooling range and service offering. The acquisition takes Abbey’s turnover to in excess of £5M with the business employing 40 staff and are now undergoing a recruitment drive to grow the business even further.
Both ATN and Abbey will complement one another as they cross sell products and services to the other’s customer bases, and from October 2016, ATN will rebrand as Abbey.
The acquisition marks a period of growth for Abbey and will enable ATN’s clients to benefit from the high level of resources the business has invested in over recent years. Such as a state-of-the-art service centre, ensuring high quality tool repair with fast turnaround times, strong back office infrastructure and wide choice through their best-of-breed manufacturer partnerships.
