Stores Supervisor – Job Vacancy

Key Objectives

Reporting to the Operations Manager your key responsibility will be to manage and be accountable for all Goods In and Goods Out. You will be assisting the Operations Manager in motivating, developing and leading the stores team and for monitoring and maintaining stock levels as required to meet the job requirements. You will ensure accurate and reliable stock levels and update and maintain all record keeping ensuring the smooth running of the department. This is a key role as the Goods In/Goods out department is central to the running of the business.

Main Duties

  • Goods receiving ensuring all stock requirements are met and all stock is stored in the correct location
  • Picking and packing
  • Ensuring best use of courier and maintaining cost base
  • Booking in of tools
  • Chasing of spare parts and overdue orders
  • Stocktakes (monthly, quarterly, annually)
  • Stores layout improvement/suggestions along with initiating and managing Continuous Improvement activities.
  • Carry out quality checks through the picking/packing process
  • Ensuring customer service levels are met
  • Performance management of stores person and engagement with Operations Manager
  • Housekeeping of Goods In/Despatch area
  • Communication between Sales Reps/Workshop and stores

    Key Skills

  • Knowledge of Health & Safety in the workplace
  • Computer literate in major programs such as MS Word, Excel
  • Good standard of literacy and numeracy
  • Strong communication skills
  • Hands on materials/stores experience
  • Ability to spot improvements and implement them
  • A forklift licence would be helpful
